Slice of Mount Tapyas
Mount Tapyas Cross in Coron, Palawan
Tapyas is a Cuyunon term which means sliced from the whole. According to the history, during the Second World War, the American Soldiers discovered that the Japanese Troops were hiding at Mt. Tapyas. Based at the present location of Claudio Sandoval Elementary School, they targeted and bombed the said mountain, with the old caƱon near the flagpole as the living proof thus resulting to destroy a part of the mountain.
